เชิญร่วมงาน Ignite Bangkok ซึ่งเป็นงานที่จัดขึ้นเพื่อให้ผู้คนจากหลายวงการนำเสนอความคิดที่สร้างสรรค์ ไอเดียใหม่ๆ หรือเล่าเรื่องราวที่จะทำให้เกิดแรงบันดาลใจแก่ผู้ฟังในรูปแบบต่างๆ ตามที่ตนถนัด
เวลา 3 – 4 มีนาคม 2553 | 18.00 – 20.00 น.
สถานที่ ห้องออดิทอเรียม TCDC
Ignite เป็นงานระดับโลกที่จัดขึ้นโดย O’Reilly Media, Inc. โดยให้ผู้คนจากหลากหลายวงการมานำเสนอความคิดที่สร้างสรรค์ จุดประกายไอเดียใหม่ๆ หรือเล่าเรื่องราวที่จะทำให้เกิดแรงบันดาลใจแก่ผู้ฟัง ผ่านการเล่าเรื่องในรูปแบบต่างๆ ที่ตามแต่ละคนถนัด ในบรรยากาศแบบเป็นกันเอง ซึ่งงานนี้ก็ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจาก Pecha Kucha Nights
First time in Thailand, Ignite Bangkok
Ignite ได้เริ่มขึ้นครั้งแรกในปี 2006 ที่ Seattle ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา และหลังจากนั้น ก็เริ่มได้รับความนิยมมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนมีการจัดเพิ่มขึ้นในหลายประเทศ โดยในปีนี้จะมีการจัดงาน Global Ignite Week พร้อมกันทั่วโลกในวันที่ 1-5 มีนาคม ใน 60 กว่าเเมืองทั่วโลก มี Igniters จำนวนมากกว่า 10,000 คนมาเล่าเรื่องราวต่างๆ และประเทศไทยได้ร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในงานนี้ด้วย ซึ่งถือเป็นครั้งแรกของเมืองไทยด้วย
ในงาน Igniter (วิทยากร) แต่ละท่านจะมีเวลาพูดคนละ 5 นาที ผ่านสไลด์ 20 แผ่น โดยแต่ละแผ่นจะเปลี่ยนภายในเวลา 15 วินาที

20 years of love and friendships.
A solo exhibition by Jesper Haynes.
NOSPACE Gallery . March 4-March 21, 2010.
During twenty years, Jesper Haynes had a very open home on 90 St Marks place in New York’s East Village.
His friends, their friends, roommates, lovers, people left over from parties and others that nobody knows how they got there, formed the basis for Jesper’s photographs.
Zonked out, sometimes spaced out, living life on the edge the cast of characters that populated Jesper’s life stare out from his images laughing, leaping and posing – testimony to deep friendships and a desire to refuse the mundane.
Jesper’s images, all of which were shot in his apartment, are infused with a rare creative energy: at once raw, sexy, joyful, zany and highly personal.

About the Artist:
American/Swedish photographer Jesper Haynes was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1962.After moving to New York in 1982 Jesper worked for fine art photographer Ralph Gibson as a printer for five years, while also photographing for various international magazines.Jesper has since established himself as a one of a kind artist documenting his unique lifestyle through photography.His photographs are part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, Sweden.He shares his time between New York (where he is based), Bangkok, Stockholm and Tokyo.

Double O Seth “Goldscissors”
นิทรรศการเดี่ยวโดย เศรษฐพงศ์ โพวาทอง

งานเปิดนิทรรศการ วันศุกร์ที่ 5 มีนาคม ตั้งแต่เวลา 19.00น. เป็นต้นไป ที่แกลเลอรี่
อาร์ตกอริลล่าส์ อาร์ตแกลเลอรี่ภูมิใจเสนอนิทรรศการศิลปะ Double O Seth “Goldscissors” นิทรรศการเดี่ยวโดย เศรษฐพงศ์ โพวาทอง ศิลปินคอลลาจมือวางอันดับต้นๆ ของประเทศ โดยงานที่นำมาจัดแสดงในครั้งนี้เป็นผลงานใหม่ที่ไม่เคยแสดงที่ไหนมาก่อนหลาย สิบชิ้น
เศรษฐพงศ์ โพวาทอง ศิษย์เก่าครุอาร์ท จุฬาฯ, Central St. Martins และ Chelsea College of Art & Design คือนักคอลลาจตัวจริงผู้มีพื้นฐานมาจากงานออก แบบภาพประกอบ และนิตยสาร แม้ว่า 12 ปีที่ผ่านมา เขาจะทำงานบรรณาธิการนิตยสารเป็นอาชีพหลักก็ตาม (Katch, Mono, ARENA, FHM) แต่ก็ยังใช้เวลาว่างสร้างงานคอลลาจออกมาอย่างสม่ำเสมอ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งตั้งแต่ปี 2002 เป็นต้นมา
Perfect Dreams ผลงานรวมเล่มของเขาซึ่งจัดพิมพ์โดยสำนักพิมพ์ a book เมื่อปี 2005 ได้ถูกนิตยสาร Dazed & Confused Japan เลือกให้เป็น 1 ใน 100 Inspiration Artist Books จากรอบ 40 ปี (1968-2008) อีกด้วย
เขาชื่นชอบงาน Pop art หลงใหลในเสน่ห์ของความ kitsch และสไตล์ของภาพเขียนเก่า นั่นคือที่มาของการนำภาพจากหลากยุคสมัยต่างสไตล์มาผสมผสานกันเป็นเรื่องราว ใหม่ ในงานคอลลาจที่ดูสนุกสนานตื่นเต้น สอดแทรกอารมณ์ขันแบบตลกร้ายและการเสียดสีอยู่ในภาพสีสันสดใส มากด้วยรายละเอียดอันประณีตงดงามซับซ้อน ปกคลุมด้วยความรู้สึกเหมือนจริงจากการใช้ภาพต่างๆจากหลากหลายยุคสมัยให้มา อยู่ร่วมกันได้จนแทบแยกไม่ออกระหว่างภาพแห่งความจริงกับความฝัน
เขาเคยแสดงผลงานคอลลาจมาแล้วเรียนหน้านี้ 3 ครั้ง นิทรรศการกลุ่ม: From College to Collage (ต.ค. 2008 หอศิลป์ กทม.), From Happy College to Monday Collage (พ.ค.-ส.ค. 2009 Happy Monday Pub & Restaurant) และนิทรรศการเดี่ยว: Collage Commando (ต.ค.2009 หอศิลป์ กทม.)
นิทรรศการครั้งใหม่ Double O Seth “Goldscissors” ที่อาร์ตกอริลล่าส์ อาร์ตแกลเลอรี่นี้คือการรวบรวมผลงานคอลลาจใหม่ๆ ซึ่งไม่เคยแสดงที่ใดมาก่อนหลายสิบชิ้นมาให้ชม คนรักงาน Pop Art หรืออยากชมคอลลาจมันส์ๆ โดยศิลปินคอลลาจมือวางมือดีผู้นี้ไม่ควรพลาด!

Fear discourages a human’s need to stay alive. Fear is also the feeling slowly eats up the human’s mind every single minute. The chronic violence appeared in the south of Thailand causes the same kind of fear. It hurts and harms people in the society, keeping them away from happiness, especially children who have been completely affected by the situation. Nuratna Hawae is the upcoming Muslim artist from Pattanee whose semi-abstract woodcuts in the “Melancholic” exhibition convey the idea of atrocity that is taking its toll on the children’s mind. The cracks crossing over the playthings depict schism in the society which in turn putting the seed of sadness in their hearts. Liveliness and laughter are replaced by sullen color and sorrowful ambiance. Either Buddhists or Muslims, they are all victimized by the wicked excuse about the differences in religion. Southerners nowadays are like living in a nightmare because there is no safety even in their playground.
ความหวาดกลัวนั้นลดทอนกำลังใจในการมีชีวิตอยู่ของมนุษย์ เป็นความรู้สึกที่ค่อยๆ กัดกร่อนจิตใจทุกขณะ ปัญหาความรุนแรงที่เกิดขึ้นเรื้อรังในภาคใต้ก็เช่นกัน ได้เข้าไปทำร้ายและทำลายความสุขของผู้คนในสังคม โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ความกลัวนั้นได้ฝังลึกลงไปในจิตใจของเด็กๆ ที่บอบบาง
นุรัตนา หะแว ศิลปินมุสลิมรุ่นใหม่จากปัตตานี ได้ถ่ายทอดความรู้สึกอันโหดร้ายที่เกิดขึ้นกับเด็กๆ ผ่านผลงานภาพพิมพ์กึ่งนามธรรมที่มีชื่อว่า “ใต้สภาวะใต้” รอยร้าวที่พาดผ่านรูปทรงของเครื่องเล่นต่างๆในผลงาน ราวกับความแตกแยกของสังคม ซ้ำร้ายกลับฝังร่องรอยแห่งความทุกข์ลงบนหัวใจของเด็กๆ ที่ไม่อาจเล่นให้สนุกได้อีก บรรยากาศอันสดใสและเสียงหัวเราะที่ควรมี ถูกแทนที่ด้วยความหม่นหมอง และสีที่อึมครึม ไม่ว่าจะพุทธหรือมุสลิมก็ล้วนเป็นผู้ถูกกระทำจากการอ้างเพียงความแตกต่างทาง ความเชื่ออย่างไร้ความชอบธรรม ใต้สภาวะใต้ทุกวันนี้ จึงคล้ายกับอยู่ในฝันร้าย เพราะแม้แต่สนามเด็กเล่นก็ไร้ซึ่งความปลอดภัยอีกต่อไป

“In the house by the canal” is the series of B&W portraits and videos by and under the direction of Michael Showanasai. The event was captured during late spring and early summer of 2009 during the time in the islands city on the Adriatic Sea. A group of Thailand?s leading artists in candid moments as their trip is winding down towards the end. “ It was a mixtures of blessings and curses, things were changing by minutes.” said Shaowanasai. “We have learnt a lot about one another, who is real and who is not.” he adds. Elizabeth Romhild’s latest work in sculpture and painting offer a robust vision of the pleasures of sensuality. Her full-figured female forms celebrate their bodies with an exceptional sense of immediacy. They move, turn, gesticulate and dance; and occasionally the artist includes symbols that enhance the physicality of the works.
The spirit of joie de vivre, of course, emanates from Elizabeth’s current works. However, this spirit belies more complex understandings. For a start, her rotund and fleshy women challenge pervasive traditions for representing the female body. Unconventionally beautiful, the artist’s figures are not idealized and not the typical object of masculine notions of feminine desirability. Instead, Elizabeth explores distinct understandings of self-possession. Her women appear unfettered by social and cultural constraints as they insist on their sense of individual expressiveness.
However, this is not to say that Elizabeth ’s works do not belong to a grand tradition of visual art. In fact, her expert rendering of the human body in paint, clay and bronze is on a continuum with art historical representations of the human body in terms of naturalism; and, in particular, Baroque engagements with what it means to excite the senses in such terms. Artistic importance is usually borne of both understanding and challenging received forms and interpretations; Elizabeth knows this well and offers a great spin on her precedents.
